The Rosary, actually explained

Many recite the Rosary without ever pausing on what each mystery truly tells. Fr. Guillaume Ndayishimiye Bonja, a Burundian Jesuit priest who entered the Society of Jesus in 1971, works through it methodically: after unpacking the opening prayers (sign of the cross, profession of faith, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be), he gives each of the twenty mysteries — joyful, luminous, sorrowful, glorious — a selection of Bible passages, a commentary, then a personal meditation.

An author who shaped a generation

Holding a licentiate in biblical theology and African languages and literature, Fr. Bonja led the Lycée du Saint-Esprit in Bujumbura and then the Jesuits' Emmaus Spiritual Centre for twelve years. He now serves the university parish of Saint Dominic in Huye, Rwanda.
