Opening a shop on Akaguriro.com no longer means sending a message into the void and hoping for a reply: it's now something you do yourself, from the website or the app. But that's not a shortcut to easy — as we've already said: selling here takes experience, real tax information, and approval before a single product can go live.
Why open Akaguriro to other sellers?
The goal was never to stay a single shop — it's to become a place where any Burundian artisan, shopkeeper, or entrepreneur can sell online without having to build their own website, their own app, or their own payment and delivery logistics. Until now, eleven shops shared this common infrastructure, but every signup and every new product went through us, by hand. What was missing was the ability for each seller to manage their own shop day to day.
That's exactly the gap we just closed.
How it actually works
1. You register
A simple form: your shop's name, your WhatsApp number, and your tax information (tax ID, business sector, address…). That last part isn't just more paperwork — every shop now declares its sales under its own tax ID, not Akaguriro's, exactly like an independent merchant.
2. Someone reviews your request
No automatic activation: someone at Akaguriro approves every new shop before it can sell. That's intentional — it protects catalog quality and the trust of customers already buying on the platform.
3. You add your products — in both French and English
Title, short description, full description, features: every field exists in both languages, filled in together. You pick a category, a price, a starting stock, and add your photos — straight from your camera or your gallery. A YouTube video link is also possible if you have one to show.
4. Every product is reviewed before it goes live
Just like registration, a new product starts as "pending" and only becomes visible to customers once approved. If it's rejected, you get the reason and can fix it and resubmit.
5. You manage your stock in real time
Out of stock? A "mark unavailable" button pulls the product from sale immediately, without deleting it. Turn it back on as soon as you're restocked.
6. Several people can manage the same shop
You don't have to do everything alone: four access levels exist — Owner, Manager, Editor, and Viewer — so your team can work together without everyone holding the same permissions.
Practical guide: how to get started
On the website:
- akaguriro.com/devenir-vendeur — to register
- akaguriro.com/mon-compte/boutique — "My Shop", your dashboard once approved
On the mobile app: open Akaguriro, then Profile → My Shop.
Both links are now live in the site's main menu — no more hunting for them.
What comes next
This first version focuses on the essentials: registration, product management, moderation, stock, team accounts. More improvements will follow as the first sellers use the tool day to day — your feedback will directly shape what comes next.
